  BLUE LOUGH BUTTRESS
Updated 30/07/11

New Additions since the 2010 Guide

Waterspout Wall

Seeds of Change, E3/4 5c *** 20m
C Hiller, K Willett 30/7/11
Start 2m left of Maverick. Climb up to the first ledge. Move naturally up and left through the two staggered recess's in the horizontal breaks. Climb delicately following the seam up and through the following two breaks and gain the next break containing a crimpy rail. Move left on this break to place crucial micro protection (.1 & .2 camalot & an offset wire). Move back right and climb the quartz seam using a small knob to gain the next slopey break (crux). Step up and right to good flake then traverse back left across the break into the finish of Plus Gas ( No.3 Blue Camalot recomended). A thread belay and possible abseil can be found approx 10m up the slope at two blocks. Alternative walk off and downclimb right of Diploma (caution).
